The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Amazon Web Services will be part of a global engineering team focused on designing and innovating electrical distribution systems for data centers. This role involves working on multi-million dollar designs and requires collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with various regulations. The engineer will also support construction processes and be a subject matter expert in electrical engineering. Requirements
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or 12+ years of related electrical experience.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Excellent understanding of the National Electrical Code.
- Solid understanding of critical data center electrical equipment.
- Ability to perform complex business case analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal and external teams supporting the data center.
- Participate in site selection reviews.
- Create data center substation electrical designs and collaborate with other disciplines.
- Work with regional vendors to specify appropriate electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements.
- Review and approve equipment submittals.
- Define project scope and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Work with commissioning teams to validate electrical systems.
- Travel to sites for reviews and engineering evaluations.
