JobsSenior ASIC Design Engineer – Clocks IP
Job description
The ASIC engineer will join the Clocks team at NVIDIA, which is responsible for designing GPU and CPU clocking systems. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that clocking requirements are met while optimizing power, performance, and area. The engineer will also engage in the end-to-end cycle of ASIC execution, from design implementation to silicon bring-up. The position offers an opportunity to work on innovative technologies in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with MS preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Deep understanding of logic optimization techniques and PPA trade-offs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- Experience in RTL design (Verilog), verification, and logic synthesis.
- Strong coding skills in Python or other industry-standard scripting languages.
- Understanding of sub-micron silicon issues like noise, cross-talk, and OCV effects is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect the clock domain to satisfy functional, physical, and testing design requirements.
- Engage with multiple teams to design GPU or CPU clocks that meet architectural and physical constraints.
- Improve Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) of NVIDIA chips by evaluating trade-offs across various factors.
- Collaborate with the physical design and timing team to address clocking concerns and develop solutions.
- Deliver clock RTL information to verification, timing, and DFT teams.
- Participate in the end-to-end cycle of ASIC execution from micro-architecture to silicon bring-up.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
