Job description

As a Facilities Water/Waste Treatment Engineer at Intel, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced water and waste systems to ensure compliance and optimal functionality. You will troubleshoot industrial water issues and manage essential water treatment processes that support Intel's manufacturing operations. The Facilities team focuses on sustainability and efficiency, ensuring that Intel's facilities meet strict environmental standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field with 1+ years of hands-on experience in water/waste treatment, or a Master's degree in chemical engineering or related field with no prior professional experience.
  • Experience with water treatment systems such as ion exchange, ultrafiltration, pH control, and UV systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments used in water quality analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Liquid industrial wastewater systems (LIWS) and industrial water systems (IWT).
  • Troubleshoot water quality issues related to ion exchange, ultrafiltration, UV systems, wastewater, and heat exchangers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in water analysis and sampling, providing technical guidance to engineers and operators.
  • Manage water laboratories, ensuring equipment calibration, inventory management, and consumable availability.
  • Coordinate with water and wastewater utility partners and third-party analytical laboratories for sampling and analysis.
  • Prepare technical reports for both technical and nontechnical audiences, summarizing performance and initiatives.
  • Oversee the sampling and analysis budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Implement innovative methods to improve accuracy, turnaround times, and overall efficiency in water sampling and analysis.
  • Maintain Plan of Record documentation and specifications governing system design, troubleshooting, and operations.
