Job description

We are seeking an early-career engineer to join our team focused on the network stack for EC2 distributed AI/ML systems. This role involves working on software that supports the training of large AI models across GPU clusters. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage with high-performance computing, networking, and machine learning infrastructure. You will contribute to building systems that facilitate the largest AI workloads in the cloud.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++
  • Solid coursework or project experience in Operating Systems, Parallel Computer Architecture, and Distributed Systems
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments and toolchains
  • Internship experience in ML communications, HPC networking, or RDMA/high-speed interconnects
  • Exposure to network programming, performance profiling, and optimization
  • Familiarity with GPU programming or hardware-software co-design
  • Contributions to open-source projects in systems, networking, or HPC

Responsibilities

  • Write high-performance C/C++ code for network communication libraries running on custom AWS hardware
  • Build and maintain infrastructure that monitors functionality and performance of large-scale AI/ML workloads
  • Develop automation using Python and AWS tools to test, benchmark, and deliver software to customers
  • Design mechanisms to detect functional and performance regressions before they reach production
  • Work across many instance types, software stacks, and Linux environments

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
