Job description
The role involves joining the Siri organization to shape the future of Apple's AI assistant by building foundational on-device execution harness and runtime infrastructure. The focus is on validating agent performance through reliable execution of multi-step agent trajectories on various Apple devices. The position requires solving complex systems engineering challenges related to local device state management and high-fidelity trace generation. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and human-centered design.
Requirements
- Strong programming proficiency in compiled languages such as Swift, C++, or Objective-C.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Scripting and automation skills in Python for tooling.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience.
- Solid computer science and systems fundamentals, including process management and local runtimes.
- Hands-on experience developing on Apple platforms like iOS, macOS, or visionOS.
Responsibilities
- Design low-level execution harnesses and orchestration tooling for dynamic agent simulations.
- Solve complex systems engineering challenges around local device state management and process isolation.
- Generate high-fidelity traces across varying hardware constraints.
- Build core harnesses, environment control layers, and trace collection pipelines.
- Enable downstream teams to evaluate agentic reasoning and personal context actions.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
