The Senior Staff Data Scientist Manager for AI Data at Google is responsible for enhancing the quality of data used in machine learning models, particularly in the context of large language models. This role involves working closely with model teams to define and improve data quality metrics, ensuring that data is reliable and impactful. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to influence stakeholders and drive data-driven decision-making. Requirements
- Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
- 12 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 10 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
- 6 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Work with large data sets to conduct analysis that includes data gathering, processing, cleaning, curation, and visualization.
- Represent analysis to stakeholders and organization executives to share insights and influence product direction.
- Define key metrics that are statistically sound and meaningful to measure data quality.
- Research and develop analysis and optimization methods to improve the quality of Google's machine learning portfolio.
- Conduct independent research to advance understanding of how data impacts the quality of large language models.
