Job description

The Regional Development Applications Engineer at KLA will focus on characterizing new systems and features for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role is part of the Global Products Group, which is dedicated to providing advanced metrology and inspection solutions. The engineer will work closely with customers to optimize processes and ensure product adoption. Teamwork and a balance of technical and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing or the equipment industry is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize new systems and features by designing and conducting experiments.
  • Collect data and publish results and recommendations in the form of application notes or characterization studies.
  • Optimize product penetration and adoption at customer facilities.
  • Train customers and other applications engineers on KLA equipment.
  • Investigate customer technical needs and provide solutions.
  • Conduct final acceptance and demonstrate products to customers.
