Job description

The role focuses on developing and optimizing advanced image-processing and computer-vision algorithms for semiconductor wafer inspection applications. The team is part of KLA's Broadband Plasma Division, which provides leading-edge optical inspection systems for integrated circuit manufacturing. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to resolve customer issues and enhance product performance. The ideal candidate will leverage machine learning and statistical analysis to drive improvements in inspection capabilities.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field preferred and 1+ years of industry work experience.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years of industry work experience.
  • Strong foundation in image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition.
  • Experience with machine learning or deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or a combination of these languages.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, characterize, and optimize advanced image-processing and computer-vision algorithms for semiconductor wafer inspection applications.
  • Support customer and factory escalations related to performance, alignment accuracy, and defect sensitivity.
  • Analyze large-scale inspection datasets to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Design and implement algorithm enhancements that improve detection capability and production stability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical customer issues.
