The system design engineer will work within the Broadband Plasma products team at KLA, focusing on the design and testing of complex inspection systems. This role requires collaboration with marketing and engineering to define system architecture and develop specifications. The engineer will also support customers in optimizing tool performance and lead troubleshooting efforts. The position demands a strong background in engineering or physical sciences, particularly in optical imaging and control motion systems.
Requirements
- Must have a strong background in engineering or the physical sciences.
- Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills in complex optical imaging and control motion systems are required.
- Experience with image processing and a good understanding of signal/imaging process algorithms is a plus.
- Highly experienced with Python scripting for data collection and analysis.
- PhD or Master's degree in applied optics, mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or related disciplines is desired.
- Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate with 3 years of experience, a Master's with 6 years, or a Bachelor's with 8 years of related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with marketing and engineering to define system architecture and develop requirement specifications and test plans.
- Collaborate with functional groups to define and review designs.
- Create and execute test plans and perform analysis to validate system performance.
- Perform system-level troubleshooting and work with functional teams to implement solutions.
- Support internal and external customers in implementing processes to build and optimize tool performance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts in manufacturing and in the field.
- Occasional travel will be required.
