Job description
As a Clinical Research Assistant at Elanco, you will play a vital role in the clinical execution team at the Fort Dodge site. This hands-on position focuses on providing operational support and technical execution of clinical studies for companion animals. You will ensure that experimental procedures are conducted with scientific rigor and compliance with regulations. Your contributions will be essential for maintaining data integrity and supporting the R&D pipeline.
Requirements
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or a current Registered Veterinary Technician certification.
- Hands-on experience working with companion animals in a veterinary clinic, research, or similar technical environment.
- Demonstrable skill in common veterinary procedures such as blood collection and vaccinations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Must be able to obtain AALAS Laboratory Animal Technician certification within one year of employment.
Responsibilities
- Execute key clinical study procedures including sample collection, vaccinations, and clinical observations for companion animals.
- Ensure study integrity and animal welfare by managing blinded study portions and providing technical coverage for critical events.
- Provide technical support for study operations by reviewing protocols and troubleshooting in-life technical events.
- Maintain high-quality data by accurately executing sample collection and reviewing raw technical data for consistency.
- Participate in a rotating schedule for on-call, weekend, and evening work as required by study needs.
