Job description
The Senior Electrical Engineer at Jacobs will lead the design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to manage complex projects and ensure quality control. The engineer will utilize their expertise to generate electrical equipment drawings and specifications while mentoring junior staff. The focus will be on creating sustainable electrical solutions that meet industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states
- 10 years of experience in professional design and preparing contract documents for complex electrical systems associated with water projects
- Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements
- Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options
Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
- Lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects.
- Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
- Conduct field visits and site investigations for public and private clients.
- Provide services during construction including submittal reviews and response to Contractor’s requests for information.
