Citi's Equity Finance Technology team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to work on their Trading application in New York. The role involves collaborating with technologists across different locations and requires strong expertise in Java. The engineer will work closely with traders to develop business solutions using agile methodologies. This position is focused on delivering high-impact projects and ensuring adherence to application design standards.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Applications Development with Core Java or systems analysis role
- Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Extensive development experience with Core Java
- Technical skills in Java, Kafka, SQL, and Git
- Experience in performing QA, TDD, and BDD practices
- Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to work with a global team across geographies and time zones
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Responsibilities
- Resolve a variety of high-impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Serve as adviser or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
