The Staff Hardware Engineer, Prototyping role at Google focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience working in a consumer electronics or hardware prototyping technical environment.
- 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
- Experience in system architecture, rapid prototyping, and hardware design.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional hardware and software teams to deliver new and differentiating technologies across the Android ecosystem.
- Collaborate with external partners to identify and define new technologies for product and feature roadmaps.
- Develop models and fabricate functional prototypes of new products and features, integrating hardware and software.
- Define architectures, key performance indicators, and validation strategies for new products and features.
- Lead and approve activities in hardware design, architecture, technology, or development for complex products or systems.
