The Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will be part of Jacobs' Energy & Power Solutions team, focusing on utility scale power projects. This role requires a senior-level engineer with over 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control technologies. The engineer will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative solutions for the energy industry. The primary focus will be on technical delivery and enhancing the reliability and capacity of energy projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years of design, consulting, or operations experience.
- Experience in instrument specification, PLC or DCS control systems, and SCADA systems.
- Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain PE license within one year.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare specifications and drawings, and write control system descriptions.
- Perform startup and commissioning activities for large power projects.
- Specify instrumentation such as pressure and flow transmitters, switches, and control valves.
- Design SCADA and Operational Technology networks including DCS, PLCs, and servers.
- Collaborate on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts.
