Job description

The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the civil engineering component of facility planning and design projects within the Federal & Environmental Solutions business unit. This role involves working closely with engineers and architects to ensure project quality and client satisfaction. The engineer will be responsible for site development for US military and federal facilities, requiring strong communication and mentoring skills. The position also includes travel to project sites, including international locations, to oversee project execution.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • At least 15 years of progressive responsibility and experience in site development projects including sealing design documents as the Engineer of Record
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Strong background in plan production and project execution while leading design teams
  • AutoCAD Civil3D design experience
  • United States Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Lead the civil engineering component of facility planning and final design projects.
  • Ensure overall project quality of civil engineering work performed.
  • Provide client service and manage project profitability.
  • Assess site features and create site layouts, designing utilities systems and pavements.
  • Write project specifications and develop integrated facility site plans.
  • Attend multi-discipline design meetings and interact with clients.
  • Mentor less experienced employees and manage civil design project teams.
  • Develop labor budgets for civil engineering design efforts.
  • Supervise topographic and utility survey teams as required.
