Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist for its Autonomous Vehicle Research team, focusing on advancing AI-powered autonomous vehicles. The role involves addressing fundamental research questions related to vehicle autonomy and collaborating with a diverse team of experts. Candidates will engage in both basic and applied research, with opportunities to publish and open-source their work. The position offers a chance to impact product development while conducting innovative research.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant research experience in the field of vehicle or robot autonomy.
  • Strong knowledge of theory and practice of vehicle or robot autonomy.
  • A track record of research excellence with publications in top conferences and journals.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional programming skills in Python, C++, and parallel programming.
  • Solid understanding of common machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic, research-focused team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cutting-edge techniques in the field of vehicle autonomy.
  • Publish and present original research at conferences and events.
  • Collaborate with other research team members and internal product teams.
  • Transfer and/or open-source technology developed to relevant product groups.
  • Work closely with product teams to integrate research results into production-level systems.
