Job description

The Packaging PD team at Apple is responsible for the design and execution of structural packaging for all Apple products, ensuring an outstanding customer experience while promoting sustainability. This diverse group collaborates with various teams, including Industrial Design and Marketing, to innovate packaging solutions. The role requires a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on learning and improving packaging design and manufacturing processes. Candidates should be eager to bring fresh perspectives to the packaging industry.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Science, Fiber Science, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of material science fundamentals
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to travel internationally, up to 20%
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and vendors from concept to manufacturing in mass-production
  • Experience developing materials with a wide range of performance requirements
  • Working knowledge of analytical techniques to characterize materials
  • Experience with paper, fiber, inks, coatings, or bio-based materials
  • Data-driven approach to solving complex problems
