Job description
The role is part of Apple's Data Center Networking team, which is responsible for building and operationalizing innovative products and solutions for Apple's hyper-scale network infrastructure. This team plays a critical role in delivering Apple's services globally, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. Candidates should have a strong passion for large-scale systems and a deep understanding of networking. The position requires collaboration with various infrastructure organizations and a focus on driving innovative ideas forward.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in building, securing, and deploying large scale data center network environments.
- Subject matter expertise in routing and switching.
- In-depth understanding of switching ASICs from multiple providers.
- Sophisticated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and large scale network features.
- Experience deploying and scaling overlay networking technologies such as VXLAN, GRE, and IPSec.
- Proficiency in one or more software languages such as Swift, Golang, or Python.
- Extensive understanding of public and private cloud networking architecture and compute virtualization technologies.
Responsibilities
- Build and operationalize innovative products and solutions for hyper-scale network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with hardware and software architecture teams to influence and operate Apple's infrastructure.
- Drive ideas from inception to implementation as a self-starter and self-motivated individual.
- Demonstrate technical presentation and communication skills to articulate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Engage in network performance tuning and optimization.
- Utilize configuration management platforms such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or Chef.
