Apple Sports is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Sports Backend Infrastructure team. In this role, you will help redefine user experiences in sports through the Apple Sports app and Apple TV. You will design, develop, and maintain real-time data services that process and distribute sports data at scale. This position offers the opportunity to work with world-class engineers and provide mentorship to junior team members.

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in building and deploying scalable, distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java with experience in both Object-Oriented and Functional programming principles.
• Solid understanding of concurrency control mechanisms, fundamental data structures, and efficient algorithm design.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as Cassandra and Redis, and stream processing platforms like Kafka.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and optimizing real-time data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Practical experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with stream processing frameworks such as Apache Flink, Apache Spark Streaming, or Kafka Streams.
• Passion for sports and the sports data ecosystem.
• Self-motivated with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
