Job description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Jamestown Engine Plant. This role focuses on supporting the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will leverage lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity. Collaboration across cross-functional teams is essential to optimize manufacturing operations and enhance performance.
Requirements
- A college, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is essential.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply manufacturing knowledge to process improvements is necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance.
- Apply lean and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and optimize production processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement manufacturing equipment and process enhancements.
- Analyze manufacturing operations and recommend data-driven solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain standardized manufacturing procedures that promote consistency and quality.
- Contribute to workstation, tooling, and fixture designs that support safe and effective production.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of manufacturing equipment to meet project and business requirements.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and help implement sustainable corrective actions.
