Job description
The role is for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) team at Microsoft, which is responsible for one of the world's largest cloud infrastructures. The focus is on improving data center delivery cycles and enhancing decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and business acumen, along with leadership and creativity. This position requires collaboration with various teams to standardize business inputs and develop long-term visions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects is preferred.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent as a TPM or data practitioner is preferred.
- Expert-level proficiency in writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large datasets is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
- Strong programming skills in data manipulation & processing are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable data assets to unlock reliable and high velocity decision support.
- Understand the Data Center delivery cycle and support leadership in making data-driven decisions.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning to inform business decisions and optimize processes.
- Advocate for team members and provide insights to improve business processes and data reporting.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance data product quality.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to deliver world-class support and data insights experiences.
- Guide business leaders with confidence in analytics and reporting.
- Summarize and communicate data analysis assumptions and results clearly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine problem statements and drive informed decisions.
