Job description

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a physical design engineer to join their design team in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering IP implementations, including high-speed DDR, USB, PCI, PLL, and mixed digital and analog designs. This role requires extensive knowledge of physical design flow and methodologies to ensure high-quality and timely releases. The engineer will also need to understand key design challenges and solutions in nanometer technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in physical design engineering.
  • Successful tapeouts in nanometer technologies.
  • Understanding of complex foundry design rules and requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of design flow RTL to GDS process.
  • Experience with industry-leading tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, and Ansys.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages including Python, C++, TCL, Perl, and Awk.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to project execution.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, tracking them to closure.
  • Mentor and guide team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with the design team and work with cross-functional teams.
