Job description
Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join their Resilience Environment team in Hanover, MD. This role involves a mix of field and office work, with up to 80% of time spent in the field. The team emphasizes mentorship and professional growth, aiming to improve quality of life through sustainable solutions. Candidates will assist in environmental site characterization and remediation tasks while focusing on health and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field.
- Master of Science degree in Geology or a closely related field is preferred.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required for the role.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization and remediation tasks.
- Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, and prepare cost estimates.
- Support Mid-Atlantic and National emergency response teams for unforeseen incidents.
