Job description

The Co-Design Architect role at NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group focuses on redefining the physical limits of chip capabilities. This team operates at the intersection of architecture, silicon, systems, and manufacturing to ensure that future products surpass current constraints. The position emphasizes proactive identification of potential physical limitations and the development of innovative cross-domain solutions. Candidates will work on cutting-edge technologies that influence the performance and reliability of high-performance computing products.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of power delivery, thermal dissipation, and current density in high-performance GPU/CPU systems.
  • Proven ability to convert physical-limit trends into impactful measures and solutions.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional influence across building, packaging, manufacturing, and test organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze constraints of packaging, power delivery, and thermal dissipation against roadmap demands.
  • Develop solutions that span silicon features, packaging innovation, firmware and hardware co-design, and DFX updates.
  • Assess emerging packaging technologies for their implications on voltage/frequency, noise, reliability, and testability.
  • Drive improvements in product performance, performance-per-watt, and provisioning efficiency through system-manufacturing co-design.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
