The Data Center Security Systems Engineer role involves designing, engineering, and integrating complex security systems for AWS data centers. The position is part of the AWS Infrastructure Security team, which is responsible for the lifecycle of physical security products and solutions. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure security effectiveness while balancing cost and scalability. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation in security infrastructure.

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• Design and engineer physical security systems for AWS data centers, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Develop technical specifications, product requirements, and build plans for security system implementations.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions that balance security effectiveness, cost, scalability, and operational complexity.
• Drive complex system integration projects across internal teams and external partners.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across AWS organizations to integrate security requirements into designs and standards.
• Contribute to the standardization of security system designs across the global data center portfolio.
• Develop automation solutions that improve the efficiency and reliability of security system deployment, configuration, and management.
• Create technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and training materials that enable field operations teams to support products throughout the full lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards, policies, and organizational requirements.
