Job description
Amazon Web Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a global engineering team focused on the design, planning, and operation of AWS infrastructure. The role involves working on substation engineering for data centers, ensuring high standards for safety and security while delivering cost-effective solutions. Engineers will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for taking designs from concept to construction. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
- Experience in HV/MV substation design
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
Responsibilities
- Participate in site selection reviews for data center substations
- Create electrical designs and collaborate with other disciplines to develop construction document sets
- Work with local utilities to define site utility requirements
- Review and approve equipment submittals
- Define project scope and provide technical support during construction phases
- Work with commissioning teams to test and validate electrical systems
- Travel to sites for reviews and provide engineering evaluations as needed
