Job description
The Sensing Software team at Apple is looking for a Software Architect to lead the development and architecture of next-generation software for Apple products. This role involves shaping application and system architectures across various platforms, including iOS and watchOS, while collaborating with hardware, algorithms, and product design teams. The architect will leverage their expertise in large-scale system design and performance optimization to create robust platforms for innovative sensing and research experiences. This position requires strong technical leadership and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in software architecture.
- Experience leading and designing architecture for complex, multi-module applications or system software.
- Deep knowledge of Apple's development frameworks and toolchains.
- Strong grasp of scalability, reliability, power efficiency, and performance tuning for resource-constrained devices.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural efforts across current and future Apple sensing and research software platforms.
- Partner with hardware, algorithms, and multi-functional engineering teams to define application and system software layers.
- Drive architectural decisions and present clear technical strategies.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across cross-functional partners.
- Guide teams on implementation by breaking down ambiguous technical spaces and defining clear architectural patterns.
