Job description

The Data Center Construction Project Manager will oversee the development of innovative and energy-efficient data centers within Apple's US-based campuses. This role is part of the Global Data Center Design and Construction team, which is responsible for delivering mission-critical construction projects. The position requires close collaboration with various teams, including Real Estate, Legal, and Engineering, to ensure successful project execution. The focus is on managing multiple projects, including equipment upgrades and new construction efforts, while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a data center construction project manager.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Strong background in data center, commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction.
  • Proficient in reading design and construction drawings for all fields.
  • Experience with power or utility infrastructure and local utility coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects including equipment upgrades and new construction efforts.
  • Coordinate with project partners from various teams to bring projects to fruition.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with management and external partners.
  • Build and maintain the project budget and secure internal approvals for capital funding.
  • Review proposals and change order requests, preparing comparative cost analysis.
