The Staff Software Engineer role focuses on developing high-performance server platforms within Google's AI and Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for the platform software, including Firmware, BIOS, and drivers for Google servers. The engineer will leverage their expertise in low-level software to lead product development and collaborate with various engineering teams. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience with C and C++.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end software architecture, design, and development of high-performance server platforms.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and system engineering teams to drive pre-silicon Firmware and Software co-development.
- Own the delivery of comprehensive software solutions, ensuring rigorous testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance.
- Influence, mentor, and coach a distributed team of engineers to foster a collaborative culture of continuous innovation.
- Manage project priorities, deliverables, and timelines while ensuring clarity across multiple teams.
