Job description
The Product Design Architect role at Google focuses on developing consumer devices that integrate Google's technology to enhance user experiences. The team is part of Google's Hardware Design organization and aims to create aesthetically pleasing and functional products. This position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure that design visions are maintained throughout the production process. The architect will leverage advanced CAD software to produce high-quality designs and prototypes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or Manufacturing.
- 6 years of experience in consumer product design, particularly in the consumer electronics industry.
- Experience with 3D surfacing using NX/Alias.
- A portfolio or relevant links showcasing previous work.
Responsibilities
- Utilize NX/Alias to capture and maintain the industrial design vision from initial sketches and discussions.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design, UX, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to deliver production-level CAD models.
- Create high-quality 3D surfaces for design concepts, prototypes, and engineering evaluations.
- Work independently and cross-functionally throughout the development and build process, including potential travel to manufacturing facilities.
- Stay informed about new materials and processes to enhance product development.
