Job description
The Manufacturing Engineer – Senior will join the CDBS team at Cummins in York, SC, focusing on enhancing manufacturing processes and safety standards. This role emphasizes building collaborative partnerships and communicating effectively across teams. The engineer will leverage their expertise in machine safety and controls to drive data-led design and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Overall, the position aims to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
- At least 3+ years of hands-on experience leading machine safeguarding programs.
- Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer (CSME or TÜV) is required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation control systems is necessary.
- Familiarity with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and key safety standards is essential.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
