The role is part of Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation team, specifically within the Datacenter Engineering group. The primary focus is on supporting the design and implementation of physical networking infrastructure for datacenter facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality design and execution of telecommunications systems. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting large capital projects and mission-critical facilities.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure including ISP, structured cabling systems, OSP networks, and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining schedule alignment and stakeholder communication.
- Experience using Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, or similar engineering and construction coordination platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support and drive the design of physical networking infrastructure during design development.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on Microsoft standards and requirements.
- Develop and review Statements of Work (SOWs), design documents, and bid packages.
- Oversee the creation of datacenter telecommunication designs from Basis of Design to Issue for Construction.
- Manage A/E firms and consultants through design development and construction administration support.
