Job description
The Product Integrity group is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to contribute to the development of future products. This role involves working with the OS Diagnostics team to create and maintain software for characterizing, calibrating, and testing new hardware. The engineer will collaborate with various teams at Apple and contract manufacturers, ensuring high hardware quality and enhancing user experiences. Candidates should have a strong background in software development across different hardware platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Expertise in at least one programming language such as C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Experience in developing drivers or applications in Unix, Linux, or macOS.
- Familiarity with building embedded system architectures and using interfaces like I2C, USB, or PCIe.
- Experience in building and debugging distributed applications.
- Proficiency in debugging at all levels of an operating system.
- Knowledge of Python, Lua, or Bash.
- Proven task management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and maintain internal software for various Apple products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and Operations.
- Engage with products from early development stages through to mass production.
- Contribute to improving hardware quality and enhancing end user experiences.
