Job description

The Systems Engineer role at Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) focuses on deploying innovative industrial robotics across North America's fulfillment network. This position requires strong technical skills to oversee large-scale project planning, installation, and launch of automation technologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution while managing technical challenges. This is a travel-based role, requiring up to 75% travel across North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
  • 2+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience
  • 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
  • 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations
  • Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment and travel extensively

Responsibilities

  • Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
  • Manage the tactical deployment of large scale industrial automation technologies
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers to convert technical requirements into deployment execution documents
  • Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment
  • Create and improve standard work documents and operational guidebooks
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results
