Apple's OS Security team is seeking a motivated software engineer to develop containment and isolation mechanisms for its operating systems. The role involves creating foundational technologies that enhance platform resilience and security. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to design robust software systems and secure code. Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in systems programming and security.
- Strong C and low-level systems programming skills.
- Understanding of operating system internals such as macOS, iOS, BSD, or Linux.
- Ability to navigate and understand code across the software stack.
- Familiarity with past, current, and emerging security exploits and mitigation techniques.
- Excellent partnership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and build world-class containment and isolation mechanisms.
- Develop foundational technologies including compartmentalization and mandatory access control.
- Collaborate with teams from Silicon Engineering to Human Interface design.
- Create ergonomic APIs that connect security engineering to developers and users.
- Invest time into promising areas of research and development.
- Deliver high-performance code while managing technical debt and tight schedules.
