Job description

The Senior System Software Engineer / Platform SW Execution Lead role at NVIDIA focuses on leading the SoC and platform bring-up for edge AI products. The Linux for Edge team develops system software for cutting-edge AI platforms that support various applications, including robotics and smart cities. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to drive the execution of software roadmaps and ensure successful product deployment. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex hardware/software interactions and improve platform stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing SoC or complex board/platform bring-up in a technical lead role.
  • Expert proficiency in Linux system and kernel development with solid C/C++ abilities.
  • Deep understanding of CPU and SoC architectures, memory and power subsystems, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hardware-aware debugging using various lab instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting factory and manufacturing processes for embedded or edge devices.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, shell, or similar languages.
  • Exceptional project and program management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SoC and platform bring-up for NVIDIA’s newest edge AI platforms from early prototypes through production.
  • Drive the end-to-end platform Linux software roadmap for edge devices.
  • Build, develop, and debug low-level Linux system software tailored for NVIDIA edge AI SoCs and boards.
  • Act as the technical program owner for platform software bring-up and run regular execution reviews.
  • Work closely with hardware and validation teams to root-cause complex hardware/software interaction issues.
  • Define and develop factory test and provisioning software to support high-volume manufacturing.
  • Analyze logs and data to continuously improve platform stability and test strategy.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish guidelines for Linux bring-up and project tracking.
