Job description

As a Research Scientist in Product Development at Elanco, you will be a vital member of the Biopharma Technical Development Analytical Development team. Your main focus will be to deliver critical analytical data and strategies for innovative biopharmaceutical products aimed at improving animal health. This laboratory-based role involves collaboration with colleagues in various departments to drive projects from early development to commercial launch. You will also be responsible for developing and executing analytical strategies and methods.

Requirements

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in HPLC/CE separations and mass spectrometry of biomolecules through dissertation research or prior industry roles.
  • Hands-on experience with protein characterization techniques such as LC-MS/MS, CE-SDS, Peptide Mapping, and Intact/Subunit Mass analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute analytical strategies for biopharmaceutical products from development to commercialization.
  • Perform protein characterization and structural elucidation using techniques like LC-MS/MS, CE-SDS, HPLC, and cIEF-MS.
  • Lead the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods to QC/GMS labs.
  • Author technical reports, protocols, and relevant sections for regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process development and formulation, to advance our pipeline.
