Job description

The Senior Silicon Design Verification Engineer for YouTube Video Accelerators will be part of a team focused on developing custom silicon solutions that enhance Google's consumer products. This role involves ensuring the functional correctness of video codec ASICs by managing a specialized High-Level Synthesis workflow. The engineer will bridge the gap between algorithmic intent and hardware implementation, employing various verification strategies. The position requires comprehensive ownership of the verification life-cycle while continuously refining methodologies to address the complexities of HLS-based silicon design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with Design Verification.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Practical experience with High-Level Synthesis tools and strong C/C++ skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive verification strategies and signoff for complex blocks where the source is C/C++.
  • Design and maintain advanced environments for functional validation and RTL timing interactions.
  • Employ HLS-specific methods such as C/RTL co-simulation and formal equivalence verification.
  • Drive complex bug hunting and coverage analysis across both C++ and RTL domains.
  • Partner with design teams to optimize C++ code for verifiability and mentor junior engineers.

Benefits

  • Employees at Google are often offered benefits like comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements, among other benefits.
