The Subject Matter Expert (SME) role within Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation team focuses on electrical engineering for datacenter infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee the development of electrical systems and ensure compliance with Microsoft standards. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including consultants and internal teams, to deliver effective electrical and power monitoring solutions. The role also involves occasional travel for site testing and vendor interactions.

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain one within 2 years.
• 3 years’ experience with design, construction, operation or maintenance of large scale and complex electrical engineering systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes.
• Solid interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Collaborate with Microsoft’s Global Datacenter Engineering team to develop electrical and EPMS designs for new projects.
• Lead and direct A/E consultants in the design and coordination of electrical systems.
• Manage all Electrical and EPMS system designs during the design stages and installation.
• Interface closely with internal procurement teams and manufacturers to deliver required solutions.
• Oversee specification and drawing development for electrical systems and overall topology.
