The Senior Software Engineer role in Core OS focuses on building threat-resistant platform capabilities for Windows Server across various deployment environments. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with coding in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Rust, PowerShell, or Kusto.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in OS fundamentals and/or software and system security.
- Demonstrated experience in confidential computing and secure cryptographic practices.
- Familiarity with platform security controls such as Secure Boot, TPM, and virtualization-based security.
- Understanding of threat modeling and modern attacker techniques.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the validation framework to test and maintain secure-by-design features with automated test coverage.
- Build observability pipelines through telemetry insights and security metrics to measure control effectiveness in production.
- Contribute to threat modeling and security reviews, building mitigations for high-severity threats.
- Support security incidents and partner with various teams to assess impact and deliver remediation fixes.
- Incorporate real-world attack patterns and operational constraints into security practices.
