The Structural Bridge Engineer role at Jacobs involves working on a diverse portfolio of new bridge design and rehabilitation projects in Madison, Wisconsin. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of professional design experience predominantly in bridges with a focus on DOT projects
- EIT certification with the ability to obtain a PE within 1 year
- Solid understanding of WisDOT practice, procedures, and standards
- Proficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge and AASHTOWare BrR
- Competency in bridge/highway CADD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Solid communication and writing skills including technical report writing
Responsibilities
- Work on structural analysis, load rating, design calculations, and plan development for highway bridge projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop rehabilitation solutions for bridge structures.
- Take ownership of design tasks and contribute to client solutions.
- Gain experience across the full project lifecycle while building technical depth and project delivery skills.
