Job description
The Senior Hardware Engineer role at Azure Edge focuses on the development, integration, and productization of hardware systems tailored for Azure and GitHub solutions. This position requires collaboration with internal engineering teams and external partners to ensure successful product development and lifecycle support. The engineer will engage in hardware design, validation, and troubleshooting while driving next-generation solutions. The role emphasizes a commitment to quality and security throughout the hardware development process.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of technical engineering experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
- Verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Own the engineering and delivery of hardware development deliverables for the GitHub/Azure Edge product portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal teams and ODMs to develop requirements and specifications for engineering design and validation.
- Maintain oversight of the hardware development plan, ensuring security, quality, and deliverables with external partners.
- Drive collaboration and change management with internal design, validation, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Engage with hardware component suppliers and ODMs for effective product development.
- Contribute to product failure investigations and corrective action processes to address quality issues.
