The Engineering Analyst role at Google Messages focuses on enhancing user trust and safety by combating fraud and abuse within the messaging ecosystem. The Trust and Safety team is responsible for protecting users from phishing, malware, and scams across Google products. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement anti-abuse protections and strategies. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise and analytical skills to identify and mitigate emerging threats.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in the anti-abuse domain with a focus on signal analysis, model development, and data analysis.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Experience programming in one or more languages such as SQL, Python, or Golang.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections leveraging reputation at all levels.
- Analyze emerging trends, conduct data analyses, and identify new signals for scaled enforcement.
- Lead projects to produce machine learning models and heuristic rules while measuring system and model reliability.
- Advise on counter-abuse strategies and influence safer-by-design features.
