Job description
As a Professional Services Engineer at Claris, you will leverage your expertise in FileMaker to support customer engagements and internal initiatives. This role requires a blend of technical skills and customer-facing abilities, allowing you to consult on various projects and contribute to the Claris developer community. You will work closely with stakeholders to design, build, and modernize business-critical solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration, technical consultation, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining solutions using the Claris FileMaker platform.
- Strong knowledge of FileMaker solution architecture, data modeling, scripting, layouts, integrations, security, testing, and deployment.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reliable technical solutions.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners, developers, or other external technical stakeholders.
- Ability to lead projects through the complete software development lifecycle.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strong commitment to solution quality, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Consult on customer engagements ranging from focused discovery projects to complex, multi-month implementations.
- Lead the development of internal FileMaker solutions and support companies evaluating new Claris products.
- Help strengthen the developer ecosystem around the Claris platform.
- Bring customer and developer insights back into Claris to improve services and influence the platform's future direction.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams.
