Job description

The Advance Manufacturing Engineer at Apple is responsible for designing precision assembly and measurement processes for Apple products. This role involves researching and developing new technologies to address complex assembly and automation challenges. The engineer will implement and scale automated solutions based on sound engineering principles. The position requires effective communication in a global environment and a focus on quality and delivery of Apple products.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of strong work experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
  • Ability to travel 30-40%
  • Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments, and failure analysis
  • Understands build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies
  • Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability, and reproducibility
  • Proven track record of cost reduction, project management, and engineering design
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles is favorable
  • NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of laser welding, robotics, pneumatics, motion controllers, or PLC and PC-based control systems is a plus
  • JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Master's degree is considered a plus
