Job description

Rivian is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Quality Engineer to enhance its Quality Management System (QMS). This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of quality and compliance across the organization. The Sr. QMS Engineer will collaborate with various departments to implement robust quality processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of QMS principles and a passion for fostering a culture of quality excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering role with significant experience in Quality Management Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proven experience in writing, revising, and implementing quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong experience with internal and external auditing processes.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to train and coach others effectively.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the existing QMS documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of new QMS processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for QMS-related inquiries and provide guidance to various departments on QMS requirements.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and drive timely closure of any identified non-conformances.
  • Lead the creation, review, and revision of internal quality standards, procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Ensure all controlled documentation is current, accurate, and effectively implemented throughout the organization.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to the internal audit team to enhance their auditing skills.
  • Support the planning and execution of the internal audit program, ensuring its effectiveness in identifying areas for improvement.
  • Identify, analyze, and lead continuous improvement projects related to quality processes and QMS effectiveness.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to quality, analyze trends, and report on progress to management.
