Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a hands-on senior engineer to enhance the adoption of Warp, a tool for high-performance simulation and scientific computing. The role involves working with CUDA and Python to improve performance and portability across NVIDIA's accelerated computing platforms. The team focuses on integrating Warp into various internal software applications while addressing technical barriers. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future of accelerated computing and make a significant impact in the field.
Requirements
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Computational Science and Engineering, Computational Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science with a focus on scientific computing, or a related computational engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant software development experience in industry, academic research, or a combination of both.
- Significant professional or academic research experience building, debugging, profiling, and optimizing performance-critical CUDA C++ software for NVIDIA GPUs.
- Substantial work building, optimizing, and supporting computational software used in research or production, involving numerical methods, model validation, or scientific data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve the end-to-end technical path for adopting Warp in computational applications.
- Turn new CUDA features and programming models into supported Warp functionality that improves performance and portability.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to integrate Warp into their software and support production adoption.
- Select and integrate CUDA-X libraries and other computing technologies to address recurring technical gaps.
- Design and implement Warp improvements that expand capabilities for researchers and developers.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
