Job description
The Refrigeration Engineering Standards Program Manager will oversee the building systems engineering standards for prototypes and ongoing construction projects within a newly developing business unit. This high-impact role requires expertise in refrigeration and control systems, serving as a bridge between the department and the broader organization. The team focuses on establishing design standards, managing technical innovation, and ensuring quality assurance across various projects. The position demands strong collaboration skills and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technology, or Reliability Engineering, or 6+ years of refrigeration industry experience.
- 6+ years of refrigeration industry experience.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems design, installation, and maintenance with a focus on refrigeration design and controls.
- Experience with value engineering and cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations, schedules, budgets, and scopes.
- Experience managing 3P engineering consultants.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with Amazon or retail construction projects.
- Experience with commissioning standards and processes.
- Knowledge of sustainability, energy conservation, and carbon reduction strategies.
Responsibilities
- Own refrigeration engineering design standards and establish them with cross-functional partners.
- Manage equipment specifications and design coordination.
- Execute refrigeration cost reduction, energy conservation, and sustainability goals.
- Lead technical innovation initiatives for building systems and quality control.
- Cultivate relationships with 3P engineering consultants and manage the production of engineering documents.
- Conduct site inspections and facility audits while providing technical expertise to various teams.
- Support preventative maintenance SOPs and partner with Facilities to ensure systems align with established standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Refrigeration and Controls topics.
- Work cross-functionally to share best practices and provide engineering solutions for site-specific designs.
- Review construction documents for accuracy and cost targets.
