In this role, you will influence the mechanical design, construction, operations, and maintenance of AWS's global data centers. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. Your expertise in HVAC and plumbing design will be crucial in defining and documenting the mechanical features of our facilities. • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Drive improvement of design standards and project approaches across the organization
• Work with internal and external design teams to review designs in progress to ensure they meet established design standards and local code requirements
• Provide high quality mechanical engineering advice on a wide variety of projects globally
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams to answer requests for information and value engineering queries
• Be responsible for construction documents, code compliance, design and installation standards, and water supply evaluation and assessment
• Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems
• Ensure contractors have the information they need to build data centers as expected
• Oversee and review project-related work, including water supply analysis and design for fire water service to buildings
