As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will support critical infrastructure in AWS data centers, focusing on the full building lifecycle from design to maintenance. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure safety, security, and efficiency in operations. This role emphasizes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions to enhance reliability across facilities. You will also manage engineering projects and engage with various stakeholders to drive improvements in data center operations.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree or experience.
- Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- Hands-on experience with BMS, BAS, SCADA, PLC, or power monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems including cooling and power distribution.
- Experience writing and standardizing controls code and managing version control.
- Proficiency using Python, SQL, and visualization tools for data analysis.
- Experience applying machine learning or generative AI tools for predictive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Lead post-event engineering analysis for controls-related incidents and develop corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and maintain controls logic and reusable code templates for mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Own the full engineering lifecycle for legacy controls first of kind pilots.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex controls issues and support investigations.
- Provide engineering support for proprietary and third-party controls products.
- Build and maintain technical baselines including test scripts and engineering playbooks.
- Develop engineering standards and system-health metrics to improve control system reliability.
- Partner with facility operations and other teams to resolve technical issues.
